Situated on Warehouse Creek and the South River, the South River Park community extends from the headwaters of the creek to the South River allowing quick access to the Chesapeake Bay. The community is comprised of approximately 115 single family homes with several community owned assets such as crabbing/fishing piers, boat ramp, boat slips, clubhouse, gardens and community park.
As a new resident, please read the community bylaws. In addition, rules or guidelines for use of the community facilities can be found on the Community Facilities page of this website.
South River Park is a Special Community Benefit District (SCBD). This means we are a geographic area in which the residents have decided to tax themselves to pay the cost of certain designated purposes. Special Community Benefit Assessment is the name of the tax that is imposed on the property owners within the SCBD. The SCBD budget is shared annually with all property owners. The tax is administered by the County in the same manner as the County real property tax. The County collects the annual assessment (currently $300), from every homeowner and turns it over to the community to be used for the community owned roads and common areas. The SRP reports annually on the spending of the tax money to the County. Click here to read the guidelines for Special Tax Benefits Districts.
Each year, the community holds an election of Officers at the November annual meeting. Regular community meetings are held quarterly at the community Club House and are often preceded by a social event.
